And as I peeked up…
from this mortifying place on the floor, there he was - towering over me with bright, dark eyes.
And I was lost.
Extending a hand, “Here, let me help you.”
A small chuckle escapes as he takes in my surroundings.
“Quite the, uh, place to be?”
Blushed from head to toe, I take his hand and avoid his eyes. I may not survive if I look again.
“Well, it was until you showed up.” I snap. Ughhh why did I say that??
Letting go of my hand, he gives me a “hmm - okay, I’ll leave you to it then” and starts to walk away. His dark shirt and pants highlighted by the sun coming through the window creating a silloutte. The gods are punishing me.
“Wait - I’m sorry. Thank you for helping me up. You caught me in a precarious situation, and I’m not used to receiving help from strangers.”
He tilts his head and his eyebrows bunch, “Stranger? You don’t remember me, do you?”
My eyes go wide…
